Service and Missions Initiatives

LGCA is committed to providing opportunities for students to express their servant heart throughout their school career. As students advance from Kindergarten to Grade 12, they should be presented with suitable opportunities to use the talents God has blessed them with. The chart below gives a simple summary of service initiatives at LGCA.

Historically, our focus in this area has been on our secondary students (G8-12).  As such, each year our staff in high School Bible classes strives to present students with meaningful service work in the community to help them understand what it is to serve and to lead.

LGCA students will work their way towards a Grade 11 international service trip. The Grade 11 year certainly has a financial cost associated with it related to the service trip, which is why parents and students should be budgeting for this in the years building up to Grade 11. For instance, starting a service fund in their Elementary years is well advised. Students can expect at least $3000 needs to be fundraised for this trip. Having that much money set aside before grade 11 would be a huge blessing for a student. Finally, Grade 12 Bible will offer students an opportunity for a personalized experience that they can build upon from some of the interests that may have been sparked in previous years during Bible class service opportunities.

The Bible classes at LGCA are meant to help students better understand the position they find themselves in on the journey God has placed them. As we work towards loving, challenging and equipping our students to be purposeful contributors in their communities, we need them to take an active role in that process. The service opportunities that are available within each year of the Bible curriculum are part of that spiritual growth process in our students’ lives.
